On Friday we participated in the San Diego Facial Hair Formal, an event spearheaded by our friend and local celeb John Weisbarth. The event ties into Movember and is focused on destroying prostate cancer. Our hats off to Johnny and his team, they put loads of energy into this awesome event. Bummed you missed it? We had a chance to drop in on the Sezio Four Day Weekend at the Sunset Temple on Friday to see Dirty Gold, Oregon Bike Trials, and Rafter. Huge fans of Dirty Gold (thanks to Michael Barrus) despite how they make us feel like old underachievers. Rafter was awesome – a one man wrecking crew.

It’s one thing to have a great idea, it’s whole different level to execute on it. Big props to Sezio for consistently putting together amazing events. Clearly a lot of work goes into this project.

Our friends at Holiday Matinee launched their first iPhone app today, “The Amazing Game of REcollection.” Not to sound like super cool insiders or anything, but we got to play with it back in July in the development stage. It’s addicting and it has a bunch of cool products we had never seen before. Most importantly, if you look closely you just may find some Orange & Park in it.

I was pretty bummed when one of my favorite bands, Port O’Brien, broke up a while back. Little did I know that Port O’s front man, Van Pierszalowski, had run off to Oslo, Norway, to put together his next project.  With the release of Waters’ debut album I’m officially over Port O’Brien’s break up. Pumped on an awesome record.

Waters visited the Casbah here in San Diego last week and I brought along the new camera. Do yourself a favor and get the new Waters album. At the very least, give them a whirl on Spotify or something.
